Return to Work After Parental Leave or a Career Break

Returning to work after maternity, paternity, or extended parental leave is more than just a professional transition — it’s a shift that can come with a complex mix of emotions. I offer a supportive and empowering space for parents to navigate the return to work with clarity, and regain confidence in their professional identity.

Who is it for?

This coaching is for parents who are:

  • Returning to work after maternity, paternity, or extended leave
  • Experiencing self-doubt, uncertainty, or pressure to “catch up”
  • Struggling to balance work demands with their new reality at home
  • Looking to regain confidence, clarity, and momentum in their career
  • Wanting to define a new version of success that reflects both personal and professional values

Why is it important?

Many parents returning to work feel they’re somehow “behind” or not as sharp as before. I’ve seen this firsthand — talented professionals questioning their place, even though their time away has given them richer perspectives, stronger resilience, and deeper empathy.

The return-to-work period can also be filled with emotional tension: the guilt of leaving a child, the desire to reconnect with your career, and the uncertainty about how to balance it all. Coaching offers a non-judgmental space to redefine priorities, and build a plan that honors both your personal life and professional goals.

Why do I do this?

As a parent who’s been through this transition twice, I never personally felt “behind” — but I know many do. In my role as a manager, I’ve seen incredible professionals return from leave feeling unsure, disconnected, or not “at the level” of their peers. I believe the opposite is true: taking time to raise a child enriches you. It builds strength, perspective, and clarity that can enhance your career, not hinder it.

I’ve worked hard to find balance between my career, my family, and my own needs — and I know it’s possible. I want to help others find that balance for themselves, and return to work with purpose, strength, and self-trust.
